My Profile Summary - contact me below for an up-to-date copy of my resume:
I am a qualified physiotherapist (2:1 degree classification) who has completed placements in musculoskeletal outpatients, respiratory and intensive care, neurology, spinal injuries, orthopaedics and elderly care.
I currently working in a large NHS Trust on a fixed term contract until August 2010. To date I have completed rotations in acute rehabilitation, orthopaedics and medical (gastro). I have also had the opportunity during this employment to lead hydriotherapy sessions, spend time on intensive care unit and develop my respiratory on-call competencies. I have both HPC registration and CSP membership.
I have over 6 years experience working within acute hopsital settings and rehabilitation having worked as a physiotherapy assistant (3 years), and also a nursing assistant within accident and emergency (4years). All these experiences have attributed to the holistic manner in which I practice today. Many of skills I have gained over the years are transferable to physiotherapy and many others are added bonuses (eg cannulation and venepuncture, first aid management) which may or may not come in useful within a certain role.
Further to this I also completed a degree in sports science covering aspects of biomechanics and kinesiology, physiology and nutrition amongst many other subjects that are applicable to the practice of physiotherapy. To improve my hands on experience I have recently completed a Level 4 sports massage course that is accredited by the Sports Massage Association.
This is just a brief summary of my experience and should you wish to no more please do not hesitate to contact me for my CV.
I am looking for any role that will utilise my skills and am willing to travel for the right job. I will consider international opportunities subject to registration processes. I would be particularly interested in opportunities available in Perth, WA.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
