As a dedicated and compassionate newly qualified physiotherapist, I bring a strong foundation of diverse clinical experience, leadership, and patient-centred care to every role I undertake. I am committed to delivering high-quality physiotherapy that aligns with the NHS values of care with compassion, respect and dignity, working together, professional excellence, and honesty and integrity. My academic training, enriched by varied clinical placements, has prepared me to step into a new graduate physiotherapy role with confidence, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous development.
Through placements in community neurology, acute medicine, ICU, community rehabilitation, musculoskeletal settings, and elite sport, I have developed a well-rounded skillset across core areas of physiotherapy. In community neurology, I worked closely with individuals recovering from stroke, MS, and Parkinson’s, developing functional, goal-led rehabilitation programmes rooted in patients’ personal aspirations and social contexts. This deepened my understanding of holistic care and reinforced the power of empathetic, individualised support.
In acute settings, including ICU and acute medicine, I demonstrated my ability to assess and treat under pressure, supporting patients with complex presentations and compromised respiratory function. I collaborated closely with multidisciplinary teams to plan care, enhance safety, and enable timely discharges. I also gained experience with delirium management, critical care equipment, and post-surgical mobilisation, always ensuring patient dignity and comfort.
My role in community rehabilitation and MSK settings strengthened my ability to manage caseloads, liaise with families and services, and develop long-term rehabilitation plans for patients transitioning back home. I became proficient in discharge planning, clinical documentation, and interprofessional collaboration, all essential components of delivering high-quality care across a 7-day physiotherapy service.
Beyond clinical skills, I have demonstrated a consistent commitment to leadership, equality, and inclusion. As Equality and Diversity Officer for the UEA Physiotherapy Society, I championed inclusive initiatives and raised awareness of underrepresented voices in healthcare. These experiences, combined with my earlier work as a senior prefect and anti-bullying ambassador, reflect my long-standing dedication to creating respectful and empowering environments.
My extracurricular roles, including being cross-country captain and a volunteer sports masseuse for RUN Norwich 2024, have enriched my teamwork, leadership, and time management skills. These roles also enhanced my understanding of biomechanics, injury prevention, and performance-based rehabilitation, complementing my passion for movement and recovery.
Effective communication is at the heart of my practice. I adapt my verbal, written, and non-verbal communication to suit patients and professionals alike, ensuring rapport, understanding, and shared decision-making. I’ve received positive feedback on my communication, prioritisation, and clinical reasoning skills, particularly in emotionally challenging or fast-paced environments.
In my spare time, I am a dedicated long-distance runner. This passion has strengthened my resilience, discipline, and goal-setting, qualities that translate directly into my professional approach. Running fuels my appreciation for physical health, rehabilitation, and holistic wellness, all of which guide my work with patients.
I am eager to contribute to a values-driven NHS Trust, where I can continue growing through structured rotations, mentorship, and in-service training. I take pride in bringing energy, empathy, and professionalism to every patient encounter, and I am excited to develop my skills further while making a meaningful impact on patient recovery and wellbeing.
