I have been working as a Physiotherapist for the last 10 years. Majority of my work has revolved around the Cardiac, Respiratory and musculoskeletal patients. I am very well versed with the working environment in the UK , as I did my cardiac rehabilitation placement in Countess of Chester hospital, Chester and worked as a physiotherapist in the UK and India.
I am currently working as a Band 6 Physiotherapist in Leeds.
It has given me broad perspective of working in the NHS, complying with the NHS , HCPC and CSP guidelines. I work closely with a Multidisciplinary team of Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists, nurses, social workers, and GP. My job role is to plan, organise and prioritise own client case-load, and to organise and manage the appropriate delegation of client care/work to the Junior physiotherapists and students. I report to Band 7 Physiotherapist. We jointly/ individually do Pysiotherapy assesment, ED-5 questionnaire, Tier 2, manual handling forms and develop a comprehansive treatmentr plan accordingly. I am actively participating in in-service training by attending and delivering presentations/training sessions at staff meetings.
Recently, I took part in a Charity event in Birmingham at Holyfamily Church, 763 Coventry Road, to raise funds for the Kerala flood victims. We did consultation of the elderly individuals and gave treatment and home exercise programs.
I am very flexible, hard working, responsible and patient.
I would be willing to do flexible shifts too.
My experience has given me an in depth understanding that regular exercise can prevent post trauma complications, elevate mood, increase self-esteem and create a general feeling of well-being. Physiotherapist’s role is to encourage the patients to take an active role in helping themselves to maximise their independence.
I am an internationally certified Yoga therapist. I have learned traditional yoga from Kerala, India, which has broadened my understanding of importance of stress management. I have got astonishing results with a combination of physiotherapy and yoga therapy in my treatment protocols. I have eventually developed a positive approach to connect with patients, and adapt myself to my team's work patterns.
As a Physiotherapist I have developed my skills in Physical health in the last 10 years of experience in UK and abroad. I also worked as a senior physiotherapist in Complete care Physiotherapy Clinic. The job role was to develop and execute Physiotherapy treatment protocols in acute and chronic heart, neurological, musculoskeletal and sports injury cases.
I maintain my own continuing professional development by keeping up to date with new trends and developments through specialist clinical interest groups, peer reviews and research, and incorporating them into practise.
I have worked in reputed multispeciality hospital like Shalby hospital, where I have used my specialist skills to treat wide range of patients in ITU, Inpatient units, Outpatient unit and day cases. I had chosen to work here as a Physiotherapist to update my specialist skills in acute care.
I can demonstrate a high level of clinical knowledge across a broad spectrum of physiotherapeutic specialities (e.g. cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and musculoskeletal) to reflect the broad sweep of clinical conditions encountered with clients. I am professionally accountable for the planning and delivery of physiotherapy within outpatient unit ,prioritising clinical needs to provide an effective service. I am organising and promoting evidence based practice within the specific area of service. Our group and individual therapies are outcome lead and it is Multidisciplinary approach.
