My Profile Summary
Please contact me for an up-to-date copy of my resume:
I am a final year physiotherapy student studying at Wrexham University. I will qualify in June 2026 with HCPC registration anticipated in the following month. I hold values of compassion, openness and respect with a focus on clinically reasoned, evidence-based practice delivered through clear communication. I am approachable, hard-working and communicative with a focus on person-centred, evidence-based practice which I have developed through experiences both clinical and non-clinical. I have demonstrated my values in my time as Student Union Council Chair and President of the Wrexham University Physiotherapy Society as well as consistently demonstrating this on placement. I am a student member of the CSP and intend to progress to full membership upon qualification to maintain commitment to maintaining professional standards and continuing professional development. Experience I have gained a wide range of experiences across a range of physiotherapy disciplines across BCUHB, spending time in East, Central and West. These included: - Acute Stroke – Supporting, assessing, rehabbing and reviewing the next destination for patients in the early stages of Stroke. I achieved an excellent pass on this placement for my ability to take on information and learn, also managing my own caseload of simpler patients by the end. - Pelvic Health – Gaining an understanding of a wide variety of pelvic health conditions including incontinence and prostate cancer. This was split with MSK Outpatients, leading to me making a pelvic health referral form outlining criteria for an outpatient referral to pelvic health physiotherapy which has been put in place for physios to use in West. - MSK Outpatients – Working independently, to assess and treat a broad spectrum of musculoskeletal conditions. I achieved an excellent pass on this placement due to my ability to independently manage my own caseload, build rapport with patients and effectively treat patients. - Respiratory/Intensive Care – Working across ICU, Acton Ward and Erdigg ward independently by the end of placement. I gained valuable experience working with ventilated patients, tracheostomies, NIV patients and acute chest management through a range of techniques including ACBT, Manual techniques, Cough assist and suctioning (Oral, NP and closed circuit). I also spent time running the bronchiectasis outpatient clinic. I received an excellent pass on this placement through my willingness to learn and progress as a student Alongside placements, I have gained experience working as a sports masseuse privately. This has developed my skills in recording information and storing notes safely and confidentially. It also gave me a greater understanding of manual techniques and becoming more comfortable in hands on therapy. This role had me working primarily with cricket and hockey players giving me experience working on players returning to sport after injury in a limited role. Alongside my clinical experience, I hold roles as Wrexham Students Union Council Chair, Wrexham University Physiotherapy Society President and Social Secretary for Wrexham University Men’s Hockey. All those roles have required management of other people, organisation and running of events and close teamwork and communication with large groups of people. These experiences have given me transferrable skills in leadership, communication, organisation, time management and accountability. These experiences of being a leader will be valuable when I am taking lead of situations such as working with TI’s or leading a joint session with another physiotherapist or member of staff. I have gained an understanding of how I lead and what my strengths and weaknesses as a leader are. This understanding was deepened through my involvement in Wrexham University Leadership Academy.
