I have more than five years of experience working as a physiotherapist, in varied rehabilitation settings such as inpatient and outpatient settings, community, wellness/fitness, homecare therapy, pediatrics, Ortho/MSK and Neuro services.
Currently, I am employed as a Faculty Member/Clinical Instructor at Velez College, teaching physiotherapy students. I am also working as a private homecare physiotherapist, dealing with different clients/patients, and as a Pediatric physiotherapist at Dynamic Pediatric Therapy. My tasks as a clinical instructor greatly involve supervising and mentoring students in clinical settings to apply theoretical knowledge to practical patient care on clinical decision making, evaluations, and patient and family interaction, and teaching subjects in lecture and laboratory/practical sessions on physiotherapy theories, techniques, patient evaluation, assessment, diagnosis/impression and intervention development. On the other hand, as a private homecare physiotherapist, my tasks include evaluating, documenting and treating patients with orthopedic, post-operative and neurologic conditions in a homecare-based setting. And as a pediatric PT, I deal with pediatric patients with physical disabilities and behavioral conditions. I am knowledgeable in different assessment tools such as Peabody Developmental Motor Scales and Berg Balance, modalities, therapeutic treatments, special tests, and outcome measures.
My peers and superiors acknowledge my compassion in treating patients, and commended my strong interpersonal and clinical reasoning skills. I am an eager learner, always wanting to improve my skill set with up to date evidence based techniques and/or interventions available. Students who have been under my guidance as an instructor teaching Physical Therapy have pointed out how I am capable of breaking down complex topics comprehensively and easily for them to understand. I take pride in my value of conciseness, where I want to share my knowledge as short and understandable as possible to prevent any confusions on both sides.
