My Profile Summary - Please contact me for an up-to-date copy of my resume:
I am a highly experienced physiotherapist with a strong bias towards musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
On qualifying in 2005 I progressed through my core rotations within the NHS before accepting various musculoskeletal and orthopaedic physiotherapy/rehabilitation roles within the NHS, MOD and the sports industry.
I am very experienced in managing patients with a wide variety of musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions within general outpatient departments, sports and military environments and within a specialised role with an extended-scope of practice.
In 2014 I left my NHS role to work as a self-employed contractor within the NHS and the MOD whilst saving to fulfil an ambition to travel. I then spent 12 months travelling throughout Asia and Australasia before returning to the UK in 2016 and taking up various locum posts within the MOD.
More recently, after returning from travelling in Europe I took up roles within private physiotherapy clinics working 1:1 with patients, teaching Pilates and starting a First Contact Practitioner' role within a GP surgery.
I am a very conscientious and proactive person with proven experience in the proficient management of various patient caseloads within the field of physiotherapy.
My Skills Include:
•Extensive skill and knowledge in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal and orthopaedic patients.
•Extensive skill and knowledge in manual therapy, exercise therapy and the use of various physiotherapy modalities including acupuncture, hydrotherapy and ESWT.
•Excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
•Extensive experience in the mentoring and teaching of colleagues.
•Excellent time management and organisational skills.
•Proficiency in working both independently or within a team.
•Adept IT skills.
As a result of the current Covid-19 crisis the private work I was completing has stopped and I moved back to the NHS for a spell. This involved me working in general physiotherapy inpatients prior to volunteering to take up an ICU role to assist the ICU nurses to manage the increasing caseload.
As the numbers within ICU are now reducing I am looking for further physiotherapy opportunities at this time.
