I qualified from the University of Salford with a BSc in Physiotherapy in 2004. After which I started my career where I gained extensive experience in Outpatients, Respiratory, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Neuro Rehabilitation, Spinal Injuries, occupational health and Community based Physiotherapy.

For the last 9 years I have been a static senior member of the Musculoskeletal Outpatients service where I have gained a significant amount of experience in the management of the of the musculoskeletal patient including spinal, upper limb, lower limb, as well as those with multi-pathologies, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, rheumatological conditions and those with more complex needs. I also have extensive knowledge in the field of Occupational Health and regularly carry out work based advice and reccommendations with returning to work after peiods off work. I am able to give specific advice to execute a successful return to work and to support the needs of the employee as well as the employer. I have covered a number of clinics including those in the acute setting such as in Accident and Emergency departments, trauma clinics and within the acute knee screening service, working closely with the orthopaedic consultants. I have run a number of different classes including those for the lower limb, spinal, upper limb as well as being the team lead for the hydrotherapy service at a large teaching hospital.

I have been AACP accredited in Acupuncture since 2006 and regularly use it in my clinics and as a treatment modality. I am also able to independently prescribe exercise therapy - a BSc degree in Applied Sport Science has assisted in my Physiotherapy skills within this area. I am also able to provide appropriate and advanced manual therapy techniques. I believe that there are a number of factors that enable a successful outcome with the management of the MSk patient and feel I have advanced communication skills to be able to ellicit the appropriate information from my patients in order to achieve optimal outcomes. I feel joint decision making and goals are the key to patient satisfaction.

I have recently gained a Masters level Degree with Distinction in Advancing Physiotherapy where I was able to develop my clinical reasoning skills and manual therapy skills and feel fully equipped to manage as an advance clinician. I am also in the process of aiming to get my MSc dissertation published on the recommendation of my university supervisors.

As part of my MSc I also completed a business module and have utilised these skills to help change, develop and aid in the setting up of new services within my clinical settings. I have also been heavily involved in the training of Physiotherapy students as well as leading in-house training sessions for the physiotherapy departments within our trust.

I have also worked within the private sector, working in private practices, as well as for sporting teams where I have had to cover pitch side duties.

I feel that I have the qualities to fit in to a dynamic and effective team, however small or large! My enthusiasm, knowledge, motivation, empathy and drive will enable me to fit in to any team that I may be involved with.
