Abbe Bond BSc, MCSP - Specialist MSK Chartered Physiotherapist
Abbe qualified with a First Class BSc Honours degree in Physiotherapy from Oxford Brookes University.
On graduating Abbe initially worked at the Horton Treatment Centre, one of Oxfordshire's leading private orthopaedic hospitals. She then spent two years working for the Oxford Health Trust in community hospital rehab wards throughout Oxfordshire as well as in the specialist Stroke rehabilitation unit at Abingdon Hospital.
An interest in Sports physiotherapy led her to spend two years working at the Bosworth Clinic, a dedicated specialist rehabilitation practice under the guidance of mentor Gordon Bosworth, previously Chief Physiotherapist to British Athletics at the London Olympic Games 2012. While working here she developed her interest in paediatric physiotherapy, completing post graduate training courses in musculoskeletal injuries in sporting children and adolescence, and working with young athletes at Magdalen College School (MCS).
Along side her work at Bond Physiotherapy, Abbe continues her work at the highly regarded Chipping Norton Physio Practice where she treats a very loyal client base developed over the last 9 years for a broad a range of sports injuries and musculoskeletal conditions.
Abbe uses a combined treatment approach to help clients optimise their rehabilitation potential including manual therapy, specialist exercise programs, sports massage, electrotherapy, Acupuncture and kinesio taping. Abbe enjoys providing patients with the knowledge and skills to self-manage their conditions and to prevent further injury
As well as being a Chartered Physiotherapist Abbe is also a fully qualified ITEC Sports Massage Therapist, APPI Pilates instructor and AACP acupuncture practitioner.
Abbe was introduced to Pilates 20 years ago following a low back injury and learned first hand how its methods can be used remedially to improve pain and restore function following injury. She has been teaching APPI Pilates to individual clients in one to one sessions as well as an extensive timetable of small group classes for the last 9 years.
Abbe is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP) and a member of Physio First, the UK’s leading professional organisation for private physiotherapists.
