I have been working as a physiotherapist for 10 years and have gained experience in a wide range of healthcare settings. I love being a physiotherapist as I feel it allows me to demonstrate my best abilities and personal qualities. I am a good listener and I would say that my strongest qualities are being able to empathise, show sensitivity and demonstrate professionalism in the workplace. I am hardworking and I feel that I have a responsibility to deliver good care to my patients as well as to be a reliable and good team member of the organisation of where I am working.
Experience to date
- junior for 3 years (2 years spent doing four monthly rotations in an acute hospital doing the core areas of healthcare medical, elderly rehab, neurosurgery, surgical and ITU, musculoskeletal outpatients, hydrotherapy and respiratory oncall and 1 year working between a special needs school and in a tertiary NHS hospital for respiratory patients).
- 1 year as a band 6 in a private hospital. I worked with oncology patients and surgical patients: spine, crainiotomies, orthopaedic, cardiothoracic and gynaecology).
- 1 year locum work as a band 6 in a range of NHS settings (mostly community work)
- 1&1/2 years as a band 6 for an NHS Trust (community, acute - elderly, respiratory oncall, enhanced recovery surgeries, day hospital - including some vestibular rehab). In this role I have been supervising juniors and students.
