I graduated as a physiotherapist (2009) with a First Class BSc (Hons) Degree from Teesside University, England.
I also hold a National Certificate in Applied Physiology & Health Science (Pass with Distinction) having previously studied at the Institute of Technology, Carlow, Ireland (2003-2005).
During my undergraduate studies, I acquired 1000+ hours of clinical experience covering the three core areas of physiotherapy. This included successful completion of 4-week long clinical placements in:

I have full current Health Professions Council registration and am currently a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, England. I am also a current member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists, Ireland, and associated clinical interest groups including the CPSEM and CPMT.
My range of experience to date includes working as an un-paid physiotherapist in a centre for adults with intellectual disabilities (Dec 2009-Jan 2010). Under the supervision of a senior physiotherapist, my primary role involved the assessment, management and treatment of service users in the areas of acute respiratory physiotherapy, outpatient orthopaedics, contracture clinic, gerontology and intellectual disability. I was responsible for my own caseload. Other roles included joint PT/OT reviews, report writing, and attending MDT meetings.
My current post involves working for a nationwide private company specializing in care of the elderly. That said, I have a specific interest in musculoskeletal/sports physiotherapy. Over the past year I have actively sought to update my CPD portfolio. I have attended MSK inservice training sessions at regional hospitals, while also completing certified courses including sports massage and taping. I am interested in gaining experience through some form of private practice work or working with sports clubs.
