Physiotherapy Registration in Ireland
Physiotherapy applicants from all countries are welcome on our dedicated
physiotherapy jobs website. Ireland employs physiotherapists across the HSE (public health service) and the private sector, and overseas-trained physios are valued for their skills and experience.
To practise as a physiotherapist in Ireland you must be registered with
CORU, Ireland’s multi-profession health regulator. CORU maintains the statutory register and sets standards of education, training, conduct and competence.
You can apply for physiotherapist registration through CORU. Guidance for international applicants—including qualification assessment, identity, English language requirements and typical timelines—is available here:

International Applicants: What to Expect
Overseas-trained physiotherapists typically complete qualification verification, provide evidence of English language proficiency (if applicable), and submit professional references/fitness-to-practise declarations. Where substantial equivalence is unclear, CORU may request further evidence or adaptation measures.
Start with CORU’s step-by-step guidance and ensure documents are certified/translated as required to avoid delays.
