Have you completed a SOMM foundation course in the past and feel your manual therapy skills could do with a refresh? This one-day course aims to provide clinicians with a great overview of the current evidence base surrounding Manual Therapy and allow students to learn new effective treatment techniques for the Cervical, Thoracic and Lumbar spine. Manual therapy techniques taught on the course will be ‘Musculoskeletal medicine’ techniques and students will cover the cervical, thoracic and lumbar regions. There will be case based discussions and students will be encouraged to explore how they would integrate spinal manual therapy into a holistic treatment approach for their patients. There will also be lectures looking at the history of manual therapy, evidence-based practice, critical thinking and the future of manual therapy in physiotherapy practice. The course is multi-professional, and you will learn in a welcoming relaxed environment, guided by experienced SOMM tutors. The day will be highly interactive and there will be ample opportunities to discuss how the new treatment techniques could be integrated into your day-to-day clinical practice.
