MLACP: Introduction to Medico Legal Work
Medico Legal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists
This is an introductory course for any physiotherapists interested in developing their knowledge of the medico-legal process and skills as an expert witness. The day will involve an overview of civil litigation and Part 35 of the Civil Procedure Rules, the role of the expert witness and the difference between causation / liability and quantum reports. We will cover physiotherapy report writing for both quantum and causation / liability reports and how to manage the whole process, from the initial approach to completion of the case. Our morning speakers are highly regarded solicitors and barristers, and the afternoon speakers are all physiotherapists with extensive experience of being an expert witness.
