The Royal Marsden Exercise Oncology Study Day: Improving Performance from Sedent
The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust
This study day’s objectives are to share insights from research and clinical practice to develop collective expertise within the diverse field of exercise oncology. We will also explore issues related to accessibility for certain groups and hear directly from patient partners. This study day also presents a unique opportunity to meet colleagues and network with specialists in this field. There will be representatives from the 'Association of Physiotherapists in Oncology and Palliative Care' and 'Exercise Oncology UK' attending, as well as the opportunity for early career researchers to showcase their work in rapid 5 style presentations. Topics to include: ➢ Physical activity in lung cancer ➢ Restoring the biomechanics of breathwork as an aid to safe and effective movement ➢ How soft tissue challenges such as problematic scars and lymphoedema impact on physical activity ➢ Case studies from high performance sportsmen and women with a cancer diagnosis To Register visit: https://www.royalmarsden.nhs.uk/exercise
