My Profile Summary - Please contact me for an up-to-date copy of my resume:
I am a graduate Sports Rehabilitator and Athletic Therapist with a Level 8 Honours Degree from the Institute of Technology in Carlow, Ireland. I have over five years of experience working in Ireland and the UK. I am currently based in London and work just outside in the Hertfordshire area where I am currently employed as a Neurorehab trainer at Neurokinex in Hemel Hempstead. I have been employed here for the past two and a half years but am looking to progress my skills and diversify my career with a new opportunity.
I am an enthusiastic, hard working and dedicated person who is keen to gain some experience in the field of sports injury and rehabilitation. I am an adaptable person who has the ability to work in any situation and would be determined to showcase my skills either with a sports team or in a sports injury clinical setting. I specialize in musculoskeletal evaluation and treatment as well as rehab but I would be interested in broadening my horizons and gaining some experience in the respiratory and neurological physiotherapy of patients in hospital settings. I have and always had a keen interest in sport of all kinds and I currently am an active member of a sports team where I enjoy training and playing to a high level. Up till now I have participated in four months of work placement both in the USA and in Ireland. In the USA I had the honour to work with a highly coveted Major League Baseball team in Arizona where I spent six weeks at Major League Spring Training camp learning evaluation, assessment and treatment skills as well as shoulder rehab and exercise programs for top class baseball players. I also completed work placement in sports injury clinics in Ireland where I gained valuable experience working and communicating with patients of all injury backgrounds. I have skills in manual therapy, neuromuscular skeletal assessment, gait analysis, biomechanics, strapping and taping and also completed a final year dissertation and so I have proficient research skills which, combined with my enthusiasm and eager to learn, makes me a suitable candidate for a job in the field of sports injury.
