About the role Right now, we have an amazing opportunity for enthusiastic Occupational Therapists to join our team at Whangarei Hospital. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work across all services and utilise professional knowledge and skills to provide a quality service to the designated inpatients and outpatients attending Whangarei Hospital. This includes: • Aligning with clinical and professional practices with Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau ward policies, protocols, clinical standards and values • Contributing to the Clinical and Occupational Therapy teams • Professional development There are opportunities to rotate throughout the hospital every 6-12 months, including Medical and Surgical based departments, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Stroke and Rehabilitation Services. We have permanent, full time opportunities working 40 hours per week. Applications are also welcome from candidates who wish to work part time. This will include weekend roster work, working one day weekend day every 6 – 8 weeks approximately. In order to apply for this role, you will need: • Hold a current practicing certificate and registration in NZ as an Occupational Therapist • Current Drivers Licence • Ability to work autonomously and as part of multidisciplinary team • Aware of Occupational Therapy theory and principles of practice • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships between staff and clients Experience is preferred for these positions, however we encourage all to apply. Along with an interesting wide variety of work to keep you engaged, you will work alongside a supportive and tight knit team and you will have the opportunity to gain further knowledge and skills within the team as well as other staff members across the wider services.
