Physiotherapy Course Summary:
The Mulligan Concept is a system of pain free-joint mobilisations to empower the patient in their recovery from musculoskeletal disorders. Founded by Brian Mulligan, the Mulligan Concept is not your standard manual therapy, utilising ‘Mobilisation with Movement’ in weight-bearing positions it allows the therapist and patient to forge a therapeutic union. The concept encourages immediate results through symptom modification of painful or stiff movement.
This two-day course presents the Mulligan approach to manual therapy for the upper extremity, cervical and thoracic regions. It includes lecture, patient demonstrations, and hands-on practical to give the participants a thorough and in depth coverage of the Mobilisation With Movement approach for the upper quarter.
This two-day course presents the Mulligan approach to manual therapy for the lumbar spine and sacroiliac joint as well as for the lower extremity. It builds upon the Part to allow refinement of application of the Mobilisation With Movement approach for the lower quarter.
This two-day Advanced course will review and fine tune the participants skill level with the Mulligan approach to manual therapy for the whole body. In addition instruction in the use of Pain Release Phenomenon techniques and compression techniques is presented. This will also assist in preparing those interested in taking the Certified Mulligan Practitioner exam.
