Physiotherapy Course Summary:
This course is designed to introduce participants to the use of Dry Needling (Western Medical Acupuncture) for the purpose of muscular pain relief. The training will focus on providing participants with a sound theoretical knowledge & practical skills based on Western Medical acupuncture philosophy & practice.

Please note, Dry Needling is also called Western Medical Acupuncture. This course is NOT designed to treat pathological conditions as taught to TCM Acupuncturists. Dry Needling is not a substitute for TCM acupuncture.


The course will:

Teach safe, sound and effective Dry Needling techniques

Discuss scientific evidence for the use of Dry Needling techniques

Relate the use of Dry Needling to the treatment of acute and chronic pain, and common musculoskeletal conditions

Provide students with a high level of safety, clinical competence and overall the confidence to use Dry Needling techniques in clinical practice

Will cover upper & lower body.

The course follows best practice guidelines set by the CSP, AACP & the NHS.

The course will be conducted by OMT Training one of the UK's leading manual therapy training companies.

OMT Training have conducted dry needling courses for the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (a current member of the IAAPT), as well as the Romanian Federation for
Physiotherapy. They have trained physiotherapists both in private practice as well as the National Health Service (NHS). And have been employed to train the physiotherapy teams at Liverpool and Manchester City football clubs.

The lecturers are authors of the book ‘Dry Needling for Manual Therapists’ published by Singing
Dragon.

All courses are certified and underwritten so quality is assured.

Course starts at 9am-5pm each day. Includes needles, pre-course reading, techniques manual, morning & afternoon tea and lunch.
