My Profile Summary - Please contact me for an up-to-date copy of my resume:
I am a passionate physiotherapist who has gained experience working within many clinical settings across Australia. I have experience working with paediatrics, teenagers, adults and geriatrics from various social and financial backgrounds. This is demonstrated from my previous employment where I rotated between different hospitals within the Sunshine Coast district. These rotations have included intensive care, orthopaedics, musculoskeletal outpatients, cardio-respiratory, acute medical and surgical wards, neurological rehabilitation, maternity wards and oncology/palliation. I have a fantastic ability to autonomously manage multiple caseloads and effectively adapt my skill set according to the needs of the service.
Over the past two years, I have contributed quality improvement projects to the service including overviewing the outpatient cardiopulmonary class to align with the latest evidence. I have also created physiotherapy resources for discharge options to be available on acute wards in the district. On a weekly basis I participated in professional development, giving and listening to various presentations on current literature in the physiotherapy field. I am able to recognise a problem, research, generate a solution, contact experienced seniors for advice and re-evalute the plan implemented to enhance the physiotherapy service. This ability to problem-solve and apply strategies to improve the service is demonstrated in the above quality improvement projects.
I am full of life and give 100% of myself to my job on a daily basis. I am well known for my excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal. I have extensive physiotherapy skills and can utilise my knowledge to educate patient, family-members and allied health team about the roles and responsibilities of the physiotherapy service.
During university I received first class honours for a research project at the Royal Brisbane hospital. This has equipped me with excellent analytical skills to apply evidence into a clinical setting and subsequently has enhanced my physiotherapy services. I have continually achieved the highest academic achievements including an OP1 and Dean’s Commendations for High Achievement during physiotherapy studies at University of Queensland. Having been raised in the Regional community of Rockhampton, I have a down-to-earth personality with a strong sense of community and a diligent, loyal persona.
My previous employment as a physiotherapist in Australia is an example of my strong work ethic, professional manner and effective time management skills. This previous employment with the Sunshine Coast Health Service, has given me a fantastic insight into a team-based, positive and dedicated physiotherapy department. My skills have been enhanced by the staff expertise provided by the district allowing me to apply increasingly independent clinical judgment. I left the service to gain further experience in an international environment and also to travel the world with easier convenience.
I would bring to your physiotherapy department a broad range of skills, including:
o Strong work ethic and effective time management
o Ability to learn quickly and adapt to an array of situations
o A solid physiotherapy skill set and knowledge foundation
o An enthusiastic, dedicated and driven personality with excellent communication skills
o Ability to self-direct learning and communicate effectively within the health system
o Excellent collegial collaboration in a team setting, with developing leadership skills
o Extensive manual therapy techniques for acute, subacute and chronic conditions
I have moved to the United Kingdom to enhance my physiotherapy skill set and learn more about this profession within an international field. I hope to maintain my experience within the healthcare system, especially in the hospital sector. I am a hard-working, compassionate and happy employee that aims for greatness everyday.
