I am an enthusiastic and highly motivated basic grade physiotherapist. I graduated from the University College of Dublin with a 1st class honours from the MSc (Pre-reg) programme in 2016 and I am a proud member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists.
I have 2 years clinical experience. I spent 18 months in St James’s Hospital, Dublin as a permanent staff grade physiotherapist. St James’s is the largest teaching hospital in Ireland and the centre of excellence for burns & plastics, haemophila and oncology. I have worked as a temporary staff grade physiotherapist in the National Rehabilitation Hospital of Ireland as part of their spinal cord injury team and have spent a season as the sole physiotherapist for a senior football team in the Leinster senior league.
I have a keen interest in all aspects of physiotherapy having completed rotations in outpatient medicine for the elderly outpatients, respiratory care, general medicine & neurology, acute inpatient medicine of the elderly and rehabilitation (including stroke), musculoskeletal outpatients and spinal cord injury rehabilitation. I have a special interest in neurological rehabilitation, my dissertation on spinal cord injury; “Profiles and functional outcomes of a spinal cord injury population following inpatient rehabilitation: A retrospective chart review” which was presented as a poster at the International Spinal Cord Society Conference in Vienna in 2016.
I have a strong work ethic and I am always trying to improve and learn further. I have a previous BSc in Health and Performance Science and I am passionate about physiotherapy and promoting positive lifestyle changes. I believe in managing patients holistically as part of the interdisciplinary team while always ensuring to implement a patient centred approach.
I have recently relocated to New Zealand and I am registered with the physiotherapy board of New Zealand. I am looking for full time work in an environment where I can continue to develop my skills.
