Physiotherapist - Private Practice

Glenelg Physio

Physiotherapist – Full Time

About the business
Hello, we are David and Natalie and we are the proud new owners of a long-established and well-respected boutique clinic in Glenelg SA. The current owner is retiring and has entrusted us with taking the clinic forward and looking after their long-standing and loyal patients. Are you passionate about your profession, caring, friendly and eager to contribute to the development, growth and success of an already outstanding Physiotherapy practice? Then we have a unique opportunity for you to become part of our small, professional and supportive team.

About the role
Let's get the usual standard stuff out of the way…….Your Duties
• Manage own musculoskeletal caseload with support from management
• Assess, diagnose and treat patients
• Maintain up to date and complete clinical patient health records
• Engage with referrers and build clinic networks
• Maintain and contribute to clinical protocols
• Participate in professional development activities
• Maintain continuity between yourself and the front desk by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
• Maintain security and patient confidentiality by following policy and procedures
• Contribute to team effort by attending team meetings and accomplishing required tasks as needed.

Now the exciting stuff…….What your first year will look like
Step one – Your Patients
You will take over an established and loyal caseload from a retiring Physiotherapist. There will be significant support and a long handover period to ensure a smooth transition for existing patients and yourself. We want to make sure all current patients are considered and cared for.

Step two – Going digital!
The current practice is a paper-based clinic and the first goal is to turn all those dead trees into beautiful, digital records. Don’t worry we have admin to do all the scanning and saving and you will only need to embrace the digital practice management software and internal systems. There is a great opportunity for you to be part of the set up of these new systems too.

Step three – Clinical Excellence and Professional Development (PD)
Assist and contribute to the refinement of our evidence based clinical protocols and set up the in-service and PD register.

Step four – Growing the team and services
Once you are settled in, we will be looking to grow the team with a new Physiotherapist. Being a small clinic, you will become integral to the recruitment and selection process. There is a great opportunity to introduce new service offerings within the clinic and surrounding community and we will be open to your ideas.

A little more
This position will give you the opportunity to influence and guide the direction and growth of the practice and would suit a Physiotherapist who is looking for a place that is forward-thinking, inclusive and nimble. You will work closely with the two business owners who have a proven track record owning and operating successful clinics. Their combination of Natalie’s 20+ years physio experience with David’s 20+ years business management and ownership make for a very clever team.
Standard requirements:
• A degree qualification in Physiotherapy
• Full AHPRA registration
• APA membership
• Professional indemnity insurance
• National Police Check
• Permanent residency or citizenship
• Own motor vehicle with current driver’s license
• Strong communication and time-management skills
• Excellent clinical reasoning, manual therapy and exercise prescription skills
• Ability to work both independently and in a team
• Eager and willing to learn and seek advice
• Forward-thinking and collaborative personality
