Physiotherapy Course Summary:
DUE TO DEMAND ADDITIONAL DATES ADDED in May. “Excellent trainers. Fantastic two days. One of the best courses I have ever been on.” Paul Battersby, BSc (Hons) MSCP, President of the Federation of Holistic Therapists, Senior Lecturer Glyndwr University – Wrexham, Wales
“Not only is the skill/technique emphasized but even more importantly the clinical reasoning! I feel confident in my ability to reason through why or why not to manipulate after attending IOMT-1. I believe all clinicians could benefit from this course.” Leona Sharman, PT – Mesa, AZ
This live 15-hour, 2-day spinal manipulation course taught by physiotherapy manipulative experts from the U.S will be supplemented with online modules strategically developed to maximize use of the two days, which will be 90% hands-on. IOMT-1 lays the foundations of clinical reasoning, pattern recognition, and motor skills acquisition needed to effectively incorporate spinal manipulation immediately into current patient practice.
Learn the when, why and how of manipulation. Skillset acquisition will set the practicing clinician apart from the competition and take even a senior provider to a new level of expertise. This course is ideal for physiotherapists, osteopaths, and chiropractors.
More than just manipulative technique. Participants will develop the confidence, knowledge, and ability to effectively assess patients with spinal conditions and to accurately identify those that would benefit from manipulative therapy. Instruction of effective spinal manipulative techniques to all regions of the spine will include the upper c/s (OA, AA), mid/lower-cervical, the cervicothoracic junction, mid t/s, ribs, thoracolumbar junction, lumbar spine and SIJ (with highly effective alternatives for smaller physios). Manipulative techniques will be followed by non-thrust, HEP & neuromuscular re-education strategies for optimal patient outcomes.
Cervical spine techniques will be presented in supine and seated positions. In addition, participants will be introduced to alternative compressive non-thrust techniques that will lay the foundation of management of patients with neurogenic presentations including radiculopathies.
This course will provide the foundational skills required to take the course offering "IOMT-2 &3: Advanced Integrative Manual Therapy for the Upper & Lower Quadrants", coming to the UK Oct. 2018.
Low instructor-student ratios (≤ 1:15) guaranteed.
