My Profile Summary
Please contact me for an up-to-date copy of my resume:
I am an HCPC and CSP registered physiotherapist. I have recently completed an MSc Physiotherapy with specialisation in contemporary musculoskeletal practice at Sheffield Hallam University with a Distinction. I am empathetic, hardworking and always in pursuit of new knowledge and learning with experience in hospital and out-patient care from my home-country. I have also worked on the frontline during the COVID-19 pandemic providing physiotherapeutic care and rehabilitation to individuals suffering from a COVID-19 infection and post-coved sequelae. I am looking for a job where I can exploit and enhance my skills. In search of an opportunity to boost my work experience and make a meaningful contribution to healthcare and society. Whenever a new client comes to me, I will start by introducing myself and making general conversation just to get the client to be a little more comfortable. Following this I would ask them about their chief issues that they want me to address during the course of their treatment. I would then screen for relevant red flags just to ensure that there are no problems that require immediate medical attention. Following this I would too a subjective and objective evaluation and perform any special tests to confirm my potential differential diagnoses. I would then prepare a treatment plan in collaboration with the patient. From my masters, I have learnt that firstly, I must only 2-3 exercises that are the most effective for the clients’ problem ans secondly, I along with the client should figure out how they would make time in the day to carry out the exercises. These are two things that are different than my previous style of treatment. Treatment may also involve administering joint mobilisation techniques, deep tissue massage, etc. Previously, I have always also attempted to getting my client’s to be more physically active be it getting into a hobby or just taking a 30 minute walk. Pain management is a very important part of what physiotherapists do according to me. I would always try my best to manage the client’s pain but was not very confident with what I was doing. Having done the pain management module in my masters, I now feel more confident in my abilities to help clients manage their pain. Communication is an integral part of my profession and I pride myself in establishing a good rapport with my clients, co-workers and superiors. Clients in my previous job always fed-back to me that they really appreciated the conversations that I had with them in relation to physiotherapy or otherwise. This also helped me develop a therapeutic relationship with them. Being a good listener and a great communicator helped me to a great with the same. I am broadminded and it is my firm belief that sharing ideas and knowledge creates an environment conducive to learning. I also believe in the strength of teamwork and helping each other out. This has helped me obtain the best outcomes in terms of study as well as work, be it in terms of knowledge or covering for others during their time-off, etc. I believe that it strongly contributes to developing a positive work-environment which in-turn, positively affects client spirit. Learning new things is something that has always interested me. I find that it breaks the monotony of life and helps keep my mind fresh, thus making me a quick learner. My profession as a physiotherapist involves critical thinking to help solve the client's problems in which my analytical mind helped me greatly. This is also why I have always been interested in research and pursuing an MSc degree gave me an opportunity to further hone my research skills. From working in an overbooked physiotherapy service, I have gained a lot of experience in managing time with the clients as well as for myself. This has also helped me become more organised and meticulous. In order to manage-time well, it is very important for me to plan ahead but also to improvise if things don't go as planned.
