Dear Hiring Manager
As an experienced physiotherapist, the advertisement for Physiotherapist sparked my interest. When reviewing the position requirements as physiotherapist, I was excited to find that my qualification and personal strength align with your needs and missions.
I bring a comprehensive set of skills from working independently in hospital setting to community settings. My proficiency as excellent communicator and patient centric exercise approach have afforded me positive results from patient and patient party. I am HCPC and CSP registered physiotherapist currently studying master’s in healthcare management in York St. John University, London Campus. I am continuing internship as Trainee Assistant Manager along with working as a Bank Team Leader in Haven Residential Care Home. I deal with elderly residents with risk of falls and multiple conditions for assessment and managing their lifestyles in care home. I closely work with home manager for assisting in managerial activities within the home. As a bank team leader, I manage my floor and manage the staffs working with me for better care and ensuring safety and quality services for all the residents. I actively take part in multidisciplinary approach and manage the visit of GP, District nurses, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, and dieticians. I am working in a holistic environment where I have exposure of different clinical conditions with a focus in learning managerial roles. With the assistance of my manager, I perform assessment for mobility and fall risk for the residents for assessing risk of falls and maintaining proper guidelines for preventing the risk for them.
I joined as a physiotherapist/community-based rehabilitation officer (CBRO) in a non-government organization (NGO) named Karuna Foundation Nepal on 16th December,2020 and worked for 13 months. I worked as a physiotherapy theme lead in a project Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Program where I had supervised and guide 30 community-based rehabilitation facilitator (CBRFs) in Sankhuwasabha District, Nepal. I had to work extensively for assessment, diagnosis and evidence-based treatment approach to uplift the quality of life of persons with disabilities. I was actively involved in home-visit for the assessment and planning of individualized exercise protocol. I lead and managed implementation of Community Based Rehabilitation works in Sankhuwasabha district and worked for capacity building of CBR facilitators through onsite coaching for evidence-based physiotherapy treatment and exercises.
As a part of the project, we had collaboration with Khandbari District Hospital, Sankhuwasabha where I worked as a physiotherapist focusing Musculoskeletal, neurological and paediatric cases. I worked with the hospital team for establishment of new physiotherapy unit in Khandbari District Hospital. With the establishment of a new unit, I learned about basic requirement of equipment and guidelines required for proper functioning of the physiotherapy unit. I worked with multidisciplinary team and was a significant team player for treatment planning of the patients. Through my journey as a community-based rehabilitation officer and physiotherapist, I came across variety of conditions from neonates to elderly populations requiring different approach for treatment. As an autonomous practitioner, I was involved in pre-assessment of the in-patient, planning of exercise protocol and discharge planning liaising with multidisciplinary team. With the exposure of variety cases in the rural part of Nepal ton establishing a physiotherapy unit in a governmental hospital, I developed confidence and was motivated to bring change in people’s life and the society.
I also completed my 6 month rotational physiotherapy posting in Dhulikhel Hospital during my University year where I was posted in various faculties of Physiotherapy and clinical department.
