Women's Health Physiotherapy - 5 Day Intensive Course  Women's Health Training Associates

Australia   Location: Sydney, North Strathfield renew Course Date: ADDED COURSE - 6th - 10th MAY!

Course Summary:
Aimed at physiotherapists with little or no experience in this field, this course is designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to all aspects of women’s health physiotherapy.

The course covers the assessment and treatment of Pelvic Floor Dysfunction (including incontinence, prolapse and defecation disorders), understanding both normal and complicated births, birth related related pelvic floor trauma, pregnancy related musculoskeletal, neurological and breast conditions, and the physiotherapists role in exercise during pregnancy (with a particular focus on high risk pregnancy and diabetes).

Day 1: Introductory Pelvic Floor Part 1 – Anatomy, Physiology and Assessment Part 1
Day 2: Introductory Pelvic Floor Part 2 – Assessment Part 2, Treatments.
Day 3: Complex Pelvic Floor - The Postnatal Pelvic Floor Patient
Day 4: Pregnancy Related Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy
Day 5: Exercise in Pregnancy & Women's Health Case Studies

Note - the first three days only can be completed as an Introductory Pelvic Floor Course rather than Introductory Womens Health.

Whilst some previous womens health knowledge is obviously an advantage, the course is designed with a "no assumed knowledge" format. All physiotherapists with an interest in womens health are encouraged to attend, including those who have never worked in women's health previously.

Testimonials:
Amy O'Mara (physiotherapist NSW)
"Thank you Taryn! Your five-day intro to Women's Health course was fantastic and unbelievably comprehensive. This is the type of course I look for when learning a new area of physio. So often when attending a course I leave feeling inspired but not getting a complete picture of how to treat the patient from beginning to end - not with this course! In five days I felt I had enough knowledge and confidence to actually treat a variety of conditions - and I have done so - effectively! I had wanted to do this course for over a year - just couldn't get it in with my schedule. It was WELL worth the wait. Thank you Taryn, your course was second to none and your support for me following has been absolutely above and beyond the call! Thank you

Heather Spalton (physiotherapist QLD)
"I have had the good fortune to attend three courses this year presented by Taryn Hallam. This has included the 5 day Introductory Women's Health Course which has given me both the detailed knowledge and confidence to get my first job within the field of women's health. Taryn's courses are incredibly well researched and up to date. They are delivered with a clear articulate approach supported by her excellently detailed notes (there is no going home to learn you have misunderstood any points). Most importantly Taryn's courses are interesting and entertaining, you cannot be anything but totally inspired by someone who is so happy to share her energy and passion for this subject.

On assessing my first pelvic floor patient I felt I could perform the examinations with confidence and skill, as Taryn had guided us so professionally through every single detail no matter how small. It left both myself and my patient feeling very comfortable, and I was able to hit the ground running with my treatments. Not something that I could say about every CPD course that I have attended.

I greatly look forward to attending future courses provided by the Women's Health Training Associates and expanding my knolwedge in this very interesting area of physiotherapy."
