Physiotherapy Job Summary:
Cairns Headache and Migraine Clinic, a sub-clinic of Proactive Physiotherapy, is searching for a new physiotherapist to mentor.
This position will involve treating general sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy clients, while being educated and mentored by experts in the treatment of jaw and headache patients, taking on an increased role in treating patients in this niche physiotherapy field.
This will involve funded formal training in the Watson Headache Approach with Dean Watson (PhD) and ongoing mentoring in the treatment of headaches with Proactive principal and level 3 Watson graduate, Julie Faulks. In addition, extensive education and ongoing mentoring in the treatment of TMJ patients will be supplied in-clinic by Julie.
This is a rare opportunity to be mentored by an expert in the field of TMJ disorders, who gained a Masters Degree from Charles Sturt University in Manipulative Orthopaedic Physiotherapy in 2001 and has been studying and developing her treatment of the TMJ ever since.
Ideally you would have some experience in the Watson technique and the treatment of TMJ, however this is not a requirement and all applicants will be considered.
This position involves a minimum 2-year commitment and an enticing sign-on bonus
At Proactive physiotherapy we believe in work life balance and looking after your needs. We also believe in understanding your goals not only as a physiotherapist but your personal life goals as well.
We are after an applicant that has good manual therapy skills and knowledge base, ideally with solid private practice experience. However, a passion to learn and a desire to make a big difference in the lives of patients can outweigh a shortcoming in this area.
Qualities that will be of benefit when applying for this position are a caring attitude, a happy and outgoing personality and a passion for personal and professional growth, a good sense of team and what it means to belong to a great one.
If this sounds like something that you are interested in, please forward your current resume and we will make a time to discuss the position further with you.
All applicants should have current APRAH registration to practice in Australia. If you have this registration, the company has the ability to provide 457 visa sponsorship, if required.
You should also be available to start by the end of June.
