Physiotherapy Course Summary:
This fun, experiential, evidence-based workshop will explore how to skilfully bring psychology into your everyday practice without you or your patient feeling overwhelmed. The workshop will include guidance on improving communication and skills in eliciting emotions, and responding to distress and fear. We specialise in a personalised approach that allow each participant to examine their own practice style, habits and frustrations, and work towards more effective interactions with patients.
Please come along and bring your own experiences. This course on psychologically informed practice is open to physiotherapists, occupation therapists, osteopaths and other health care professionals working with patients suffering from pain.
The course is run by Clair Jacobs, Lead physiotherapist, INPUT Pain Management Unit, St Thomas’ NHS Trust and Tamar Pincus, Professor in health psychology, department of psychology, Royal Holloway, University of London.
