Physiotherapy Course Summary:
28th,29th,30th September and 9th, 10th, 11th November 2018
This course is designed to offer Chartered Physiotherapists the level of knowledge, skill and understanding that will allow them to practice acupuncture and dry needling techniques in a safe, appropriate and effective manner within the clinical setting. Successful completion of the course will allow students to become an accredited memebr of he AACP.
The course provides a Western medical approach to acupuncture and needling and is grounded in current research evidence but also covers the concepts of traditional Chinese acupuncture.
Topics covered include acupuncture analgesia, classical acupuncture points, myofascial trigger points, electro-acupuncture and auricular acupuncture.
The course is a mix of theory and practical spread over 6 days.
The course tutor Jonathan Hobbs has almost 20 years clinical experience in needling and was awarded an MSc in acupuncture in 2004. He is the senior lecturer in physiotherapy at Glyndwr University, a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has been published in the Journal of Chinese Medicine. He is also an AACP accredited tutor and Chairman of the AACP, the largest professional organisation in acupuncture and needling in the UK.
