Physiotherapy Course Summary:
AACP Accredited Acupuncture Foundation Course
23rd, 24th, 25th June & 4th, 5th, 6th August 2017
This course is designed to offer Chartered Physiotherapists the level of knowledge, skill and understanding that will allow them to practice acupuncture in a safe, appropriate and effective manner within the clinical setting. Successful completion of the course will also include first year's membership to the AACP.
The course provides a Western medical approach to acupuncture and is grounded in current research evidence but also covers the concepts of traditional Chinese acupuncture.
Topics covered include acupuncture analgesia, classical acupuncture points, myofascial trigger points, electro-acupuncture and auricular acupuncture.
The course is a mix of theory and practical spread over 6 days.
The course tutor Jonathan Hobbs holds an MSc in acupuncture, is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has had his work published in the Journal of Chinese Medicine. He is also an AACP accredited tutor and Chairman of the AACP board of directors.
