This course is ESSENTIAL if you work with people living with Parkinson's & was developed by Founder, Melissa McConaghy. Melissa has been working with PD patients for 17 years & is 1 of only 7 Specialist Neurological Physiotherapists in Australia.

Karen Hodgson MSc, MCSP
Karen is an Accredited International trainer & Licensee of PD Warrior (in conjunction with her local branch of Parkinson's UK), Director of Hallamshire Physiotherapy Sheffield, UK & was a Senior Lecturer in Physiotherapy at Leeds Metropolitan University. Post-graduate students from Sheffield Hallam University undertake clinical placements with Karen & the Neurological team at Hallamshire. She qualified as a physiotherapist in 1987.
Her main area of interest is the treatment of neurological conditions including Parkinsons, stroke, multiple sclerosis & traumatic brain injury. Additionally she co-ordinates the physiotherapy service at the Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre based at Catcliffe, Rotherham. Currently she is involved with research into educational programmes & Multiple Sclerosis.
Karen also has a role as external examiner for the MSc Physiotherapy programme at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. Recently, she has returned to Sheffield Hallam University as an Associate Lecturer & MSc clinical tutor.
This Level 2 Course is a PRACTICAL WORKSHOP in Dublin & can only be completed after successful completion of Level 1 Introductory Theory ONLINE.
The L2 course is a progression & implementation of the theory learned in L1. It is expected that you complete the L1 module BEFORE attending the L2 Practical. L2 can be purchased as a bundle with L1 or separately at your discretion.
The practical workshop is delivered face to face & runs for 1 day from 9.00am to 4.30pm. You are expected to participate in the exercise component and come dressed and prepared to exercise HARD! If you have any injuries or restrictions on exercise please advise your trainer.
To give you the best experience of delivering the concepts of PD Warrior, you will be working with volunteer patients who have the PD movement disorder. You require professional indemnity insurance to participate in this session. Sensitivity & confidentiality is expected
