Physiotherapy Course Summary:
Are you a Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist or Registered Nurse that wants to work in a growing and rewarding clinical area? Lymphoedema Therapy is a growing specialty due to the increase in proactive cancer rehabilitation that focusses on patients living with high physical function and good quality of life.
The professional requirement for treating lymphoedema in Australia and New Zealand requires health care practitioners to complete a Level 1 Lymphoedema Course that is endorsed by the Australasian Lymphology Association (ALA). Macquarie University, via the ALERT Education program, offers this program through a 9-day face to face course. Learn how to deliver complex lymphatic therapy (CLT) including manual lymphatic drainage, compression bandaging, garment prescription and exercise prescription.

Cost: $3,240 plus 10% GST.
On completion of this course practitioners will:
Receive an industry qualification that is recognised by the Australasian Lymphology Association (ALA), the peak professional body in lymphology in Australia and NZ. You will become an ALA-accredited lymphoedema therapist eligible for listing on the National Lymphoedema Practitioners Register (NLPR).* (Inclusion criteria is an AHPRA qualified health professional).
