New Zealand Registration

Hello

I am a new physio graduate from Uk, I have been offered a job in new zealand.

I was enquiring about how to furfill the crietria to get my registartion with thye new zealand board. i.e competencies section

I would be very grateful for any assistance you guys could give me if anyone has already done this

Basically you need to get a break down of all the marks for all the assessments you ever did at University. Your college should be able to get you these. You also need a course content book from your university. You need original copies of your birth cert(I think) and your degree. There is another one but I cant remember what it is. I also sent off a copy of my dissertation. Take copies of everything because you dont get them back. You'll need to leave yourself about 4-6months to get it sorted. Hope this helps!

hi there. I am in the same position but i have sent my reg away a few weeks ago. You need certified copied of ur passport, degree, hpc and csp reg. official course booklet of study and academic transcript. Have heard of students from last year that have still not got reg from new zealand and they applied 10 months ago. My advice is to apply and get all sent away and go to new zealand on working visa. You can then enquie at he nz physio board offices on how ur aplication is going and they will take you a lot more seriously. That what i am doing.

I am also trying for the New Zealand Registration. Indian Degree is not recognised there so the procedure is long for us. For details see there web site www.physioboard.org.nz/

Just read your thing on the forum page and thought i would ask how you were getting on with your registration?Me and a mate r hoping to work in NZ and were thinkin of doing what u have done!Does it help going out there to boost it?How much experience did you have before u applied?!

Shane - do you still have a word doc. copy of your competency section of the registration, I am going insane with this registration process and sometimes think i am writing way too much. It would be GREAT if u could email me a copy just to see how you set it out. I am unsure as to whether I need to write for example, how the body changes through human development or whether I just need to bullet point which papers I studied related to this and which placements I did that might also have incorporated this???

Any help to stop me losing my mind would be much appreciated

Hi Shane and Suzanne, where can I get a sample copy of the portfolio required for registration as a physio in NZ. The webiste is hardly user friendly. Can someone please give me a tip or two?

Hi,
the website gives you information about what needs to be in the portfolio. The whole application booklet is on there. Have you written to them and asked for a hardcopy? Maybe that would make it easier for you.
The rest you really have to do yourself, as they ask you to explain how you believe that you meet all criteria, and put some evidence with it. It is a very personal statement.
So, I don't actually believe that someone else's portfolio will help you in the slightest.
If it drives you insane, maybe you should start over again and give it all a fresh glance.
Sufficient basic Physio education (like BSc Hons), some decent work experience and courses and you are done. Put it into nice words. There you go.
