Re: Physio's Require for South Island Practice

From what I understand - if you have completed a 4 year degree course in physiotherapy in Scotland/Ireland you are eligibto work in NZ once registration has been accepted. Otherwise you need to complete the 3 year diploma course and at least 2 years post graduate experience. You would need to be able to translate all of your qualifications from India and prove competencies. The board treats each case/application individually so you would need to look on their website to check your quals etc. Hope this helps

Re: Physio's Require for South Island Practice

Hi Cailin,

We have been informed that UK grads need to complete at least 2 years work experience before being eligible to work in NZ. Only 4yr grads from Ireland and Scotland are eligible to apply straight after graduating.

Kris

Re: Physio's Require for South Island Practice

Having checked the New Zealand physio board for more info on whos eligible they state that if you have a 3 year degree you only need 12 months experience post-qualifying.
Where did you get your 2 year theory from?
Thanks
Daisy
