I`m a physio from Poland and currenly living in Australia.I`m preparing for this bloody and expensive(4000$) screening exam to become register in AU.I`m looking for someone who passed or knows ANY information regarding this exam(preparation suggestions, useful books, previous tests, hints, etc.).
ANY information will be greatly appreciated
The Committee has established a process by which eligible overseas-qualified physiotherapists may prove their competence to practise in Australia.
The AECOP EXAMINATION process consists of the following components:
Written Examination (written theory exam, offered in Australia and offshore, previously termed Screening Examination)
The next available written examination is in March 2006.
To maximise the opportunity to sit for the March 2006 exam, applicants must submit form 1249 and all relevant documentation to ACOPRA no later than October 15 2005. Applications received after this date will be assessed promptly but this may not be completed in time to enable to applicant to register for the March 2006 examination. The final date for receipt of applications for the March 2006 examination is Wednesday 2nd November 2005. If documentation is received after October 15, and further information is required, the assessment may not be completed in time to enable to applicant to register for the March 2006 examination.
Clinical Examination (must be completed in Australia)
Optional period of Supervised Clinical practice (min. 6 wks) is strongly recommended before candidates attempt the clinical exam. This gives candidates an opportunity to transfer their knowledge and skills in to the Australian health care setting.
Clinical examinations are held on a date that is mutually convenient for the candidate and AECOP.
Even i am interested to know about the preparation stuff required to go through this exam.
I am an Indian national and have recently been thru the Australian exams myself.
I would suggest that when you get yourself registered for the written exam, ACOPRA will provide candidates with an exhaustive list of resources: books/journals etc. Its the best way to get started.
Hope that helps...Good Luck!!!
