Re: Acopra exam
hi Emma i am a first year undergraduate in physiotherapy i am a mature student i wonder if you could enlighten me about the assesment of degrees in oz before they deem you fit to sit thee exam i tryed to get this info of the austrailian assessment and council but the only info i got was that there was a student who was passed to sit the exam 5 years ago but she wouldnt tell me if northumbria uni in england newcastle met their standards she said just do the degree as circumstances are changing all time i found this really flustrating as i wanted to be sure they would deem me fit to sit exam and i wanted to pick best uni for this it will be a BSc physiotherapy (Hons) so i am confused why if you graduate youre degree has to be assessed as surely a BSc physiotherapy (Hons) degree is a degree no matter what uni in england ive been to i cant enjoy my course as much with this concern can you tell me anything to put my mind at rest as to this matter i know you have to sit the exam but dont want the worry after 3 years of not being allowed top do it.
I would be really gratefull of youre knowledge in this area. thankyou jean

Just shortly, I inform you that this study group started as a protest against the unfair system of this procedure. Sept 05 exam, where only 14% of the candidates passed (compared to the average 50% of the previous exams) was the last drop for us. Now we try to help all the people wanting to be registered in Australia, so that they can make it at first attempt, while most of us had to attempt several times with high costs.
We have study material, Sept 05 papers (the only ones given, because of the protest, but protected by a disclaimer, so I can give them only to people enrolled in the exam....), old Acopra guidelines, University lectures, and lots of feedback and advice from us that have been through it (three times myself). We have a yahoo study group for the moment (you can post your email address here so I can send you the invitation to join the group). We are planning though to create our official association for overseas physios in Australia with a proper website.
I'll be pleased to let you join the group, as I said please send your email address.

Re: ACOPRA australian exam
Hi
I am a Belgian Physio with 7 years of experience in France.
I am now in Australia (Brisbane).
My physio studies were only 3 years (10 years ago).
Would it be possible for me to join the AAPTA study group so that I can have some help and support to go through the ACOPRA process?
(knowing that I have already tried 2 years ago and my application was unsuccessful mostly because I was unprepared and didnt really know what the were looking for).
I am hoping that maybe with your help I could do better a second time.
Thanks

Re: ACOPRA australian exam
Hi Aditi If you can become a part of Aapta. the study group started by Emmanuela, you can get access to the earlier papers and the exams, if you want to appear for the written exams in March 2008, you have to send the papers to APC by now, I dont know the time needed to prepare for the written exams, but it will take some time, so better to start it ASAP, Thanks bye bye

Re: ACOPRA australian exam
Hi Aditi once you become a member of Aapta, that is the group run by emmanuela, you will find some of the old papers in files section of that Aapta website, apart from that, if you send your papers to APC, they will send you some books for studying reference, thanks

Re: ACOPRA australian exam
There is a change in the ID for ur friends to send in the New member
format, which is aapta06@yahoo. com.au
So if u have any friends who want to join in, send them the new member
format frm the 'Files' section and ask them to fill it and send it back
to the above ID. Also tell them that they should have a yahoo ID
inorder to access the Files section.
