temporary registration in australia

Hi
Im a newly qualified physiotherapist in the Uk and currently have a full time position for 12months here in the UK.

I am looking to going travelling next August (2008) when my contract ends and was wondering if anyone knew which states offer temporary regitstration (even if on a supervised status) if any at all?

Also has anyone been down this route? Im also in the process of doing competencies for New Zealand and realise if i am granted registration in new zealand i will be able to work in some states through the trans-tasman agreement. However the temporary registration in Aus is a back up option of working on my gap year if i fail to get new zealand registration.

Can anyone help?
Many thanks

Re: temporary registration in australia

Your best bet is to look at the websites for each state (NSW, QLD etc) as they all say exactly what thier requriements are for temporary registration. I think if you have 12 months experience all of them may allow temporary registration...but I would double check that yourself!

Re: temporary registration in australia

Dear Daniela,I am currently seeking eligibility assessment with the Australian Physiotherapy Council and also trying to get a temporary license with Tasmania and NSW Physiotherapy Board.I would like you to help me link up with any host facility like a Physiotherapy clinic if you have the details about some that would be willing to host a 12 months clinical supervision.
I am presently not doing anything here just waiting to hear from the Council and definitely as it is I might not be able to meet the March examination schedule so while waiting it would be better if I undergo some months of clinical supervision.
Please kindly help out, this boredom is killing me,and I am still waiting to hear from you concerning the exam preparation group you promise to introduce me to,
I am in brisbane presently, waiting to hear from you, thank you.
