hope you can help (lower leg injury)

hi there, new to the forum. hope i have posted in the right section.
i injured my lower leg playing football. as i kicked the ball i hit it right at the end of my toes and bent my foot back ( a tad too far ). got a strong pain straight away down the outside of my shin (muscle). hurt for a few days.
now if i put any pressure on the muscle(pressing or just laying down) where it joins under the knee i get a throbbing pain in my ankle. the area that i am pressing on also hurts a fair bit.
what is this injury called? and how long could it take to heal.
