calf muscle need help

I went to a physiotherapist today and he diagnosed me with something about my calf which caused my backpain. He spoke about the mechanics of my body caused my back not stretch so much when I tried to stretch my back backwards so he told me to do some stretches but one stretch I tried and was stumbled by what occured...

click on this link please:

Racewalk.com - Calf Stretches (Page 1 of 4)

the only difference from the picture is that both of my legs are at the same distant position also when i do this the right calf is stretching more and there is a stronger pull is this meant to happen?

The answer to your question "is this meant to happen"? could be yes or no. Much more info required.

Re: calf muscle need help

dbcubed, interesting story. Either you have intrepreted your physio wrongly or , he/she may have given the short and possibly incomplete answer .
There is a strong link with altered tone and tightness of the calf muscle when irritated nerves , located in the lumbar spine, cause altered patterns of recruitment in those muscles associated with them. In other words , low back problems will routinely cause tight and painfull calves , where no other problem exists in the calf. These are common phenomena and broadly known as somatic referred events.
While the causative pathway does exist where altered patterns of gait,( limping ), may contribute to lumbar spinal protective behaviour leading to low back pain , the reverse is by far the more likely.
Did you consult this physio because you have a calf pain problem?, or low back pain ? or both. In either case, the first step in dealing with these will be at your lumbar spine.
