HYDRARTHROSIS KNEE
Hello,
I HAVE A PATIENT WHO PRESENTS HYDRARTHROSIS KNEE,WITHOUT PAIN.FOR ROUGHLY 70 DAYS. ALL THE TEST ARE NEGATIVE.HE IS GYMNASTIS WITH MOST EXCELLENT NATURAL SITUATION.HE HAS A LIGHT NUMBNESS IN THE PERONJEA SURFACE NEAR IN THE KNEE. I WOULD LIKE TO HELP ME IN THIS DIFFICALT SITUATION! I AM VERY SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH!!!8o |

You describe "Áll tests are negative" What do you mean with all tests are negative? If you mean for example stability tests, they are not as good, discriminative, as one might hope and one might "overlook" a problem. A slight numbness in the "proximal peroneal area" is not uncommon with swelling. I am afraid you have to re-examen and re interview your patient to know the cause of his problem. Palpation for tenderpoints will help you on your way. But if you do not know the cause, like ligament tear e.g. You might have to send him back to his GP for an arthroscopy or a scan. For help from one of your colleagues you have to tell what you have tested. and what the cause of the trauma, (a fall with a rotation of the leg?), might be.
