tib post soreness

Have a pt. with tib post soreness after running. 2 weeks later still sore. tibia is ext rotated, and weight bears on lat side of foot. Tends towards inversion to initiate heel raise. Have started with popliteus and tib post exs plus ultrasound....any other suggestions.

His tibias wouldn't have started to externally rotate in the past month, I am sure. Has it been there long? What dosis US are you using? Do his shoes suspend well?
I saw a few gymnasts (no shoes!) that had these probs.

re: tib post soreness

TP is a resister of pronation of the subtalar joint, adducts the forefoot, plantar flexes the ankle and resists forward flexion of the tibia. Therefore a referal to a Podiatrist for prescription custom casted functional foot orthoses to control subtalar joint pronation will cure the cause of the problem. Off the shelf orthoses will not be effecftive. Further damage to TP could lead to rupture and development of a painful chronic traumatic flat foot.
