Conjoint tendon
Hi! I'm a physio student in my final year, and am presenting a case study on conjoint tendon injury in a male sprinter. There doesn't appear to be much in the literature. Does anyone have any experience in treating this? Any comments would be appreciated!

re: Conjoint tendon
Use a brace, strengthen TA or request a referral for surgery

re: Conjoint tendon
Usually insidious onsett.
Signs: pain on cough and sneeze.More abdominal, not referring much. Increased pain on abdominal loading eg sit-ups. Rx; surgical (laproscopic) repair or rest or train abdominal wal depending on condition etc. This typically only occurs in top athletes. |

re: Conjoint tendon
Depending on your location and access to surgeons, the optimal treatment is surgical repair as previosly stated it usually occurs in elite athletes and wait and see isn't an option. If possible contact a GI surgeon and ask to view an op it will give you invaluable information.
