Unhappy help kick starting healing

once again i have managed to aggreivate some of my many injuries and when i was at home going through the old R.I.C.E routine it got me thinking. there must be something that i can do or take that encourages the body to start healing?

I already take glucosamine and receive treatment weekly from a physio, but is there not something more i can do than just ice?

i have had ongoing injuries caused by collapsed arches, leading to ligament damage in both ankles, knees as well as back problems. i have put in the hours at the pool and gym and have noticed a real difference, the one area i feel frustrated is when i have a relapse and it feels like you are sitting waiting for ages.

Is there anything more that i can be doing when i first injure myself???

I'm hoping with all of you expertise some1 will have an interesting or quirky idea that may be worth trying?
