8 month post ACL allograft with swelling still in ankle

Hello Everyone,
Thanks for reading my post.

I'm concerned about the swelling that is still present in my ankle after having an ACL allograft and menisectomy in my left knee almost 9 months ago (Oct. 2007)!!!

Though the swelling is not as severe as immediately following surgery, I'm wondering why I'm still a bit swollen just above and below my ankle. The blood vessels in that area also look like they've erupted a bit, since I have tiny spider veins showing up since surgery. I've heard of a condition that causes permanent swelling, but have forgotten the name. Starts with a "V" I think. Anyway, can anyone tell me if this will eventually resolve itself? I'd like to see my ankle again someday. Maybe my age (43) has something to do with this?

Thanks so much for any help!
Maria
