Knee Pain!!!!!!!!!
11 days ago my son of 6 stones fell directly onto my thigh and gave me a dead leg, i was able to put ice etc on the injury but after many hours the leg was huge and just agony. Over the next few days i did the RICE and also kept moving, the thigh was huge and painful, i went to a and e and he said i had probably bruised it. A few days later struggling at work the pain was like pins and needles in the thigh. Over the past week my thigh is a s tight as anything but my knee is the most painful, when i get up from sitting or laying i have this weird sensation that goes straight to the knee are, it makes me feel sick and the pain is unreal. I have been back to see my gp and they have given me diclofenac and told me it's probably a bruised nerve. The pain is just getting worse and i fell like they are just fobbing me off. Really fed up, the skin around the knee area is agony to touch too. Any ideas???

Re: Knee Pain!!!!!!!!!
Interesting, if there is still considerable swelling then indeed it may be compressing the nerve. However, have you tried elevating the leg? Additionally a physiotherapist who is expert in massage and taping may help alleviate some of the issues you are having. Are your ankles beginning to swell? Compression socks may help, but the idea is the improve venous/lymph flow to enhance healing. Also what colour is the bruise, do you feel you have lost muscle strength in that limb? How many days ago was this?

Re: Knee Pain!!!!!!!!!
The bruising is still coming out so only slight colour of green, have been back to my gp's today and she has now said that it is more likely to be nerve damage of some sort. But because the injury is only recent that she would not refer me to anyone yet as i was to give it a little longer. She has signed me off work for two weeks and given me some stronger pain killers, as i avoid moving cause i cant stand the pain that runs toward my knee when i move it does also run along the back of my leg into my calf and towards my ankle. I don't have much movement to bend my leg as it pulls my thigh muscle, this as well is as tight as hell too... Just really fed up. Maybe i'm expecting to feel better too soon.
