ACL knee brace

Hi everybody,
I had a knee injury about 2 years ago and again last year and I was diagnosed (MRI) a full ACL rupture.

I don't heve any pain now,I can run straigh line but I have problems when changing directions.I am doing my workout for leg muscles but it is not enough for knee stability.

I would not like to go to surgery so I was wandering if an ACL knee brace could help me return to sports?
Thing is,I was training aikido before my injury and I was hoping to came back to it...

Thanks for answers...

Re: ACL knee brace

If you have the surgery for a reconstruction you should be able to return to Aikido. I am not sure a brace would be permitted though in any competition in Aikido though. You are seeing the lack of rotational stability that the ACL helps provide. No brace in isolation will stabilise for that entirely. A specific ACL brace and the surgery will be useful for activities like skiiing. The repair itself should be enough with good and extensive rehab to return to Aikido.
