Arthrogryposis

I would like to know if there is anyone, anywhere with information on the latest developments in the management, especially physiotherapy management of Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita. Any input will be highly appreciated.

I don't know that much about it, but I do have one 2 1/2 year old child on my caseload with Arthrogryposis. His affects only his upper extremities, so the occupational therapist has been working on his hand skills. He has some active movement at his shoulders, very slight active elbow flexion and a little movement in his fingers. He underwent serial casting about six months ago to improve the range of motion in one elbow. I think that the idea is to fix one of his arms in flexion and leave the other in extension to allow him a greater variety of functions. As far as my role goes, I have been monitoring his gross motor skills and advising on safety. Obviously, he was unable to crawl or to pull up to standing so his mobility has been somewhat delayed. He is doing quite well now, though, and it is neat to see his solutions to problems!
