Re: Physiotherapy?
In the UK all physiotherapists must now be chartered physiotherapists if they want to call themselves physios (hope that makes sense)
It is a 3 or 4 year university degree (depending on England or Scotland). During that time you will spend 1100hours on placements in hospitals to ensure you are safe as well as attend lectures etc in uni. You need high grades to get in as its a tough and popular course. Check out some of the universities that do the course (visit UCAS website) or look on The CSP for more info. Physios are different in USA/canada than rest of world as differently qualified and often have to follow doctors orders. In the UK we are autonomous practitioners who assess, diagnose, treat and discharge our own patients. Work is both outpatient (injuries etc) and inpatient (chest treatments, rehab) based. hope this helps.
