plantar facitis

Hi
For treatment of P.F there is no effect by T.N.S/U.S/Laser/Cold/Heat .some times IF current have
effect.Recently Shock Wave THerapy uses for that ,but
according my experiences it is not best solution.I do
IF+Shock Wave+Heel Pad

continue with UST which i find to be effective, faradic foot bath and try out with ischemic compression over the origin of plantar fascia for 2 mins, its very effective for pain relief.
follow this with taping at the end of the treatment session.

hi chala
sorry for using medical jargon's as i was not knowing your back ground.

iontophoresis is a physiotherapy treatment technique using electrical current.the current is used to drive ions from a solution into the body.this is an effective way to drive medicines to target area without loss in intensity of medicine.
for eg if we are taking a medicine orally it will pass thru various metabolic process in the body,so only a minimal amount of it only reach the site as in your case foot .
hope i made it simple

I see, well do you have any suggestions for me. I have had Plantar Faciitis for 3 months treating it for one month with standard orthodic's and icing. Last two weeks with streching (the streching is tricky has to be done perfectly as not to aggravate) i started taking 1gram of dried Ginger 3 times daily as a anti-inflammatory (i am told it is powerful) i really want to avoid
NSAIDs. I am not getting much relief! Can you help?

hi chala

if you comes to me with plantar fascitis.i will be doing a detailed assessment.it includes
your general posture
posture related to foot
how you are weight bearing-any deviations
assessment of your walking
arches of foot-weight bearing and non-weight bearing
any muscle tightness in lower lims-ta,hams,quads,TFL
any strength deficits
mobility of the joints of lower limbs

without all these i won't be able to suggest a effective treatment.i suggest you to consult a physio specialised in musculoskeltal conditions

Re: plantar facitis

Chala -
The frequency of your treatment session will be dependent upon the findings at your initial physical therapy evaluation, but I think you can probably expect to be seen around twice a week.

You can find a nearby PT at the following web site:

APTA | Find a PT
