Treatment of Acute/Chronic Achilles Tendonitis

I am currently trying to write a guideline for the treatment of Acute/Chronic Achilles Tendonitis which is evidence based and would like to hear from anyone who has one in place already or has any interesting info!

re: Treatment of Acute/Chronic Achilles Tendonitis

Gentle deep tendon massage qd; stretching qd, modifying as tolerated; i may do US but I suspect it is the DTM that works. Strengthening once pain and range is restored, if needed.

re: Treatment of Acute/Chronic Achilles Tendonitis

Eccentric strength exercises seems to work fine for patients suffering from chronic achilles tendinosis, look at Sports med, 2000-02, 29:2, 135-146. Alfredsson H.
