re: Hip Joint re surfacing

There is a Surgeon in the North of England who has been pioneering Hip resurfacing. This is a simple alternative to THR, the pt can return to work in approx three weeks, there is little post op trauma and NO risk of dislocation. My friend who is an MCSP found this out for her husband who was successfully operated on in Feb of this year and has had a fantastic result. He is aged 62 and was very "far gone" prior to surgery. I can get more details for anyone interested.

re: Hip Joint re surfacing

Sounds brilliant. Can you post some more details here? Is this being carried out anywhere else in the UK, and what is the expected longevity of the procedure?

re: Hip Joint re surfacing

Certainly sounds promising! Can you tell more about the operation techniques? What do they do exactly?
Cheers
